Veronica Isabelle Stubberud
Veronica Isabelle Stubberud is a norwegian/danish oboist based in Copenhagen, where she is currently working on her masters degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music where she is studying with professor Max Artved and Joakim Dam Thomsen. She holds a bachelor degree from the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus, where she studied under the principal oboist of Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Oliver Nordahl.
She is an active orchestral and chamber musician, and have played with various international and nordic youth orchestras, as well as different professional orchestras in Denmark. She has also participated in numerous masterclasses, eg. with Alexei Ogrintchouk, MURI Masterclass 2017 (with Christoph Hartmann, Emmanuel Abbühl and Simon Fuchs) and Klausen Masterclass (with Nick Deutsch and David Walter).
Her latest projects includes the Denmark Tour of CHESS the Musical 2018, performances at the PULSAR Festival for contemporary music and in the summer she will be playing 25 concerts in the Marble Hall of Schloss Weissenstein in Pommersfelden, Germany as part of Internationale Orchesterakademie Collegium Musicum Schloss Pommersfelden.
While the great symphonic repertoire is what lays closest to her heart, Veronica also enjoy working with composers expanding the oboe repertoire, and on March 9th 2016, she premiered 8 new works for the oboe, commissioned by her as part of her bachelor project “8 uropførelser for obo”.
